City Bank will officially introduce the10 recipients of its 2014 $50,000 Community Rewards program at 11:45 a.m., Friday, Dec. 19. The announcement and presentation of rewards will be held at the Griffith Center, located on the lower floor of the bank’s main branch at 5219 City Bank Parkway.

The 10 winning organizations are Humane Society of West Texas, Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation, Wesley Foundation at Texas Tech, South Plains SPCA, StarCare Specialty Health System, Morris Safe House, Saving Grace Pit Bull Rescue, Lubbock Christian School, Larry Combest Community Health & Wellness Center, and Alstrom Angels. The top vote-getter will receive $10,000; the next five vote-getters receive $5,000 each, and the final four will receive $3,000. In October, six nonprofits received $500 each in Early Rewards.

The $50,000 Community Rewards launched on Sunday, Nov. 2. The 10 winning agencies were determined via online voting of city and area residents. Voting closed on Monday, Dec. 15. Some 100 nonprofits were represented on the ballot and more than 170,000 votes were cast. Since its inception, Community Rewards has now contributed $360,000 to 67 different nonprofits groups.
